How Worth the Quid looks after your data

This notice explains what personal data Worth the Quid handles, why, and what you can do about it under UK data protection law (the Data Protection Act 2018 and the UK version of the GDPR). Last updated 25 September 2026.

Who is in charge of your data

The controller is the publisher of Worth the Quid, reachable at 642 Monnow Way, Bettws, Newport, NP20 7LN, United Kingdom or post@worththequid.com.

What we collect

• Messages you send us. Your name, email address, the topic and the message, so we can reply. Lawful basis: legitimate interests in answering correspondence. We delete them a year after the last message in the thread.
• Server logs. Our hosting provider records the IP address, time, page requested and browser type for every visit to keep the site secure and working. Lawful basis: legitimate interests in security. Kept for no more than 30 days.
• Your light or dark choice. If you press the theme switch, your browser remembers the choice in its local storage. It stays in your browser, and we have no way to see it.

No ad trackers, no profiling, and personal data is never sold or passed on. There is no analytics software on the site at the moment; before any is added we will change this notice and the cookie page, and ask your permission wherever consent is needed.

Who else sees it

Nobody but the companies that host the site and handle our email, and only under contracts that bind them to our instructions. If a provider stores data outside the UK, it does so under safeguards recognised by UK law.

Your rights

Ask and we will show you what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop or limit how we use it. Write to post@worththequid.com; you will have our answer inside a month. If that does not settle it, the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK data watchdog, takes complaints at ico.org.uk.
